Pet Tails Rescue, a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization, coordinates rescue services from shelters in southern states and places dogs and cats in loving, adoptive homes all over New England. Foster care provided by dedicated homes ensures that the pets saved from shelters are well- cared for before their placement in forever homes.

Our Mission

Pet Tails Rescue is committed to saving the lives of abandoned, surrendered, or homeless dogs and cats through our shelter facility and a foster-based network of volunteers. We share the vision to place these precious animals into permanent, responsible adoptive homes. The Rescue is also focused on promoting awareness, education, and reform to existing animal welfare conditions and standards, which contributes to a productive and positive animal adoption experience.

How PTR Works

As an approved 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation in NH, Pet Tails Rescue is registered with the NH Charitable Trust and recognized as a Rescue/Shelter by the NH Department of Agriculture. The costs associated with our rescue work, such as shelter pull fees, veterinary care, and foster care reimbursement, can be significant. We are fortunate to receive support from our volunteer base, local businesses, and various dog and cat professional service providers. Donations are graciously accepted throughout the year, and our volunteer Fundraising Committee helps organize events to further support the Rescue. Additionally, our 501(c)(3) status means that any donations made to Pet Tails Rescue are tax deductible.
